Nutritional Therapy

A qualified Nutritional Therapist holds a 3 year diploma in Nutritional Therapy and is trained in basic biochemistry, physiology and pathology as well as supervised clinical practice, and is qualified to work in private practice and see clients on a one to one or group basis.

A Nutritional Therapist offers personalised diet & lifestyle advice which is tailored to your individual health needs and goals. Using a Functional Medicine approach, we include carefully chosen dietary recommendations, practical meal suggestions and recipes as well as tips on how to incorporate the changes into your lifestyle and budget. We will identify the aims and needs of the client, potential imbalances, root causes, and drivers and triggers which are contributing to the symptoms

What kind of diet & lifestyle advice can I expect to receive from a Nutritional Therapist?

As part of the consultation process, I will go through your medical history and assess your current health status. We will discuss personal health symptoms, needs and goals and devise a personalised nutrition plan on this basis. You will be offered personalised lifestyle advice which is tailored to your individual health needs and health goals. This includes carefully chosen dietary recommendations, practical meal suggestions and recipes as well as tips on how to incorporate the changes into your lifestyle.

I will work with you to devise a meal plan that is nutritionally balanced, practical, enjoyable and sustainable. If any foods need to be reduced or eliminated for a period of time, I will suggest viable alternatives that will maintain nutritional needs.

Where necessary, I may also prescribe natural supplements in safe doses e.g. probiotics and/or vitamins and minerals to help alleviate certain symptoms or optimise nutritional status. However, food is always the main part of the protocol.
